In 2008, Interior Designer Jennifer McKay was preparing for the biggest design job of her career, one that would potentially thrust her into the design world spotlight and ensure job security for years to come.
Then, like many of the other business ventures and opportunities in 2008, things began to unravel. The banks stopped giving loans, the housing market was in free fall and her golden opportunity was gone in what seemed like a New York minute. Like thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Americans, Jennifer had to come up with a plan B. But what was plan B? This...let's call it a "halt" in the economy gives a person time to think, reflect and re-evaluate how they define themselves and how they can impact others through their work.
Through this process of reflection Jennifer had an epiphany....what would happen if she combined her background and love of design with her idea of creating meaningful products?
This core ideology would be the genesis of an ever growing line of products that have been created with these intentions: products that create giving, products that create well-being, products that pay respect to our planet. In January, 2011 Pure Designs for Living launched at the New York International Gift Fair! Their products are now selling throughout the US and Internationally...We're so excited about what they're doing & we look forward to more eco-chic, modern & unique products for our customers & our world.
