DiLascia’s Bakery- Founded in 1939 as a bakery in Binghamton, NY, re-established in 2009 as a clothing collection- DiLascia’s bakery is the product of designer Patrick DiLascia’s love for family history and fashion. His collections are inspired by the 1940’s and 50’s uniforms worn by the bake shop’s first employees! All pants are shipped in the original pie boxes used at the family bakery- a truly tasty concept.
The DiLascia’s Bakery collection has been a dream for owner and designer, Patrick DiLascia since the bakery closed in 1997. From the time Patrick could walk he worked in the bakery, right to the last day the doors were open. With the love of his family’s bakery and the desire to work in the fashion industry, Patrick found an unusual way to keep the bakery name alive.
The DiLascia’s Bakery collection is a denim alternative brand, using only 12oz twill cotton. Patrick was sick and tired of wearing jeans everyday! Right down to the hang tag, there are elements of the family owned bakery. The hang tag has a picture of Patrick’s father and uncle opening one of the bakery locations in 1956. The line is a breath of fresh air in over-embellished contemporary market. Each season the collection will be expanding into more classifications, such as woven and nylon jackets. A women’s line, Mary Bakery by DiLascia’s Bakery is also in the works.
