Raw Chocolate Blueberry Hemp Smoothie

by Sarah E. January 25, 2012

This smoothie rocked. It was one of those rare occasions when I had frozen bananas on hand, which worked wonderfully with the cacao and maca. Court and I enjoyed it very, very much. And yes: there are indeed shaved raw chocolate pieces on top!

Raw Chocolate Blueberry Hemp Smoothie

3/4 cup frozen or fresh blueberries

1 frozen banana

1 tsp maca

1tsp hemp seeds or ground hemp

1 tsp cacao powder

5 drops liquid stevia

1 tsp raw cacao powder

Raw chocolate shavings (garnish, optional)

Toss in blender. Enjoy with shaved chocolate on top, or perhaps a sprinkling of cacao nibs, goji berries, or raw granola!

Scorpion peppers are one of the hottest chiles in the world, with a mean heat of more than 1.2 million Scoville heat units (SHUs).

by Femme Fraîche March 06, 2016

Mushroom and Kale Egg BakeAdulting is hard stuff. Sure, there are the big things like taking care of kids or parents, unexpected car and home repairs, dealing with awful work situations, but sometimes the littlest things feel the most difficult. These days, one of my biggest dilemmas is finding what to feed myself in the mornings that is convenient, nourishing, and so tasty I’ll be psyched to eat it a few days a week. This...
