Firing Up the Grill for Memorial Day Weekend with Latin-inspired Recipes

by Stephen Chavez May 26, 2011

Memorial Day Weekend kicks-off for us the “official” summer grilling months. It’s a time we remember all of those who have sacrificed dearly in the armed forces and thank them for their efforts to protect our freedom. Our house not only heats up from the May weather, but from what’s cooking on the grill and the spices in our marinades and salsas. Every Memorial Day Weekend we get together with friends and cook up a storm while sipping on frothy, ice-cold cervezas or blended margaritas. We will be posting different recipes all weekend long to celebrate with you. Hope you come back to visit and try out a few.

We’d love to see some of your favorite grilling marinades and recipes to share with our readers. Please post and share your recipes below in the comments. Have a safe enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend!

I like heat and so this recipe has one dried Scorpion pepper added to the mix. Scorpion peppers are one of the hottest chiles in the world, with a mean heat of more than 1.2 million Scoville heat units (SHUs).

Mushroom and Kale Egg Bake

by Femme Fraîche March 06, 2016

Mushroom and Kale Egg BakeAdulting is hard stuff. Sure, there are the big things like taking care of kids or parents, unexpected car and home repairs, dealing with awful work situations, but sometimes the littlest things feel the most difficult. These days, one of my biggest dilemmas is finding what to feed myself in the mornings that is convenient, nourishing, and so tasty I’ll be psyched to eat it a few days a week. This...
