Fit For A Queen: The Lavish ’70s Palm Springs Home That Time Forgot

The ’70s made many memorable contributions to culture, from Thin White Duke Bowie to The Godfather to The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

But interior decorating does not often bubble onto anyone’s list of the decade’s biggest achievements.

Signature busy patterns accented by drab earth tones and saturated tints stand in total opposition to today’s more minimalist approach (though wood has certainly made a comeback), and nowhere is that more apparent than in this Palm Springs time capsule currently on the market.

Feast your eyes on 2055 S Joshua Tree Place, a three-bedroom masterpiece of shag, crushed velvet and mirrors that some gay man simply must purchase, if for no other reason than to throw an unforgettable party.

Everything looks normal enough from the outside:

But one step through the door and the time warp is in full swing:

Thank god the dining room keeps with the forest green/puke theme:

A bit too overwhelming? Take a rest in the relaxing master bedroom if you must:

Every master suite has to have an equally impressive bathroom:

And just think of the entertaining you could do in the appropriately wood-paneled bar and lounge:

So who’s going to fork over the $850k and send out invitations?
