Ahead of Mississippi Rally, LGBTQ Advocates and Allies Speak Out

by Hayley Miller April 30, 2016

Tomorrow, HRC will march from the Mississippi Capitol to the Governor’s Mansion in Jackson to send a clear and powerful message to Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, Lt. Governor Tate Reeves and House Speaker Philip A. Gunn that fair-minded Mississippians support the repeal of the discriminatory HB 1523. Can’t make the march? Watch LIVE on HRC’s Facebook page starting around 4 p.m. CDT.

Ahead of the march, LGBTQ advocates, celebrities, politicians, businesses, CEOs and allies have spoken out against HB 1523, which has opened up a broad loophole allowing almost any individual or organization to use broad justifications to discriminate against LGBTQ Mississippians at work, at school and in their communities.

See what they had to say below and don’t forget to join HRC at the Rally to Repeal HB 1523 tomorrow in Jackson.
