How Is Billy Eichner Different From His On-Screen Persona?

billy eichnerWell, I’m not crazy is the main difference. The Billy on the Street persona, that guy is obviously a lunatic. I think of Billy on the Street as a live-action cartoon at this point. It’s inspired by personas that I really loved as a kid. Pee-Wee Herman, I was obsessed with. In a way, what Pee-Wee was doing was performance art, although that is a very pretentious term nowadays. Billy on the Street is, to a certain degree, a social experiment and performance art as much as it is a silly comedy game show.”
