Woman Outraged By “Antigay” WiFi Password Needs To Take Some Deep Breaths

Speaking from personal experience, wi-fi modems always arrive form the internet service provider with a headache-inducing preset password — something like “5ph34llbi88lbakKpabE.”

Things seem to have gotten a bit more user-friendly.

But the headache persists for one UK woman, who was outraged when she arrived at her elderly mother’s house for Christmas and discovered Virgin Media had set her up with an easier-to-remember, albeit potentially-offensive, password.

“Completely disgusted that my elderly mother has her Virgin wifi installed with THIS as her password?!” the woman tweeted with a photo of the password “gayfkers.”

Seems more profane than offensive to us, but it still might be a bit much for dear old gran.

The Metro shared these photos of the exchange:

She added: “utterly offensive and ruined her Christmas. We have gay relatives today and everyone is so outraged and upset! Obscene.”

Just today?

Virgin apologized, claiming the passwords are randomly generated and admitting they might need to review the process:

Others online took a much less pearl-clutching approach to the misstep:
