Join HRC for Two Events in North Alabama

HRC will be in Huntsville the first week of February for two events.

Also, please register to attend the LGBT Rural Summit on Thurs, Feb 4, hosted by The Office of the Assistant Secretary of Civil Rights, National Center for Lesbian Rights, and the True Colors Fund.  This event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be served. Help spread the word and plan to join the conversation. 

According to the Williams Institute, “10 percent of all same-sex couples in the country live in rural America" and these couples are actually more likely to be families of color and raising children.

This series offers a unique opportunity for USDA and other federal agencies to share information relating to policies, programs, and services that exist to protect, promote and strengthen LGBTQ+ rural communities. Issues ranging from rural housing loans, community facility grants and bullying will be discussed.  From housing, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and more, there will be something for everyone and we welcome and need your voice and perspective to ensure the success of the day.
