Somewhat troublingly, it’s already been 25 years since Hook tinkled and twinkled onto the screen, re-introducing us to the ragtag Lost Boys from Never Never Land. Now, they’ve squeezed into their old costumes and reunited, celebrating the anniversary and paying tribute to co-star Robin Williams two years after his death.
Here’s a sampling of their lofty reminisces: “You have to understand, when you’re 15 and you’re doing this Steven Spielberg movie with megastars — Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Julia Roberts — you know you want to be cool,” says Dante Basco, who played Rufio. “I don’t know how cool I’m going to look with my belly button out.”

James Madio, who played Don’t Ask, says that Robin Williams “kept the set very alive. He made sure that he had a relationship with each and every one of us.”
“I think for all of us [Robin’s death] was the death of our childhood,” Basco said of the loss. “There’s sadness there, also there’s a lot of space to kinda celebrate one of the most legendary artists of our time.”
“[Robin] really taught me at a young age what it means to be a star, what it means to be a leader on a set,” he continued. “Everything you want Robin Williams to be he delivered in spades.”
