Required Viewing: 49 Celebrities Honor The 49 Orlando Victims

by Dan Tracer June 30, 2016

This is a real tear-jerker, but also vital viewing.

The Human Rights Campaign has released a video featuring 49 celebrities honoring the 49 victims of the the Pulse shooting, with a blurb about each life that was taken too soon.

And really, who cares about the celebrities? It could have just been random people reading the names and descriptions, and the effect would be the same.

But if the inclusion of people like Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Sarah Paulson, Lea Michele, Sofia Vergara, Kevin McHale, Darren Criss, Jane Fonda and others gets more people to watch the 18-minute video, the big names have paid off.

It’s a humbling reminder of how much we share in common with the victims. So take a moment, grab a tissue, and find out who they were. Then perhaps reach out to someone you love and let them know how you feel — just a suggestion.

Watch the Ryan Murphy-directed clip below:

by Dan Tracer October 26, 2016

Leave it to a deodorant company to get what so many elected officials in this country can’t quite wrap their heads around — that there is no “one way” to express gender. And while right wing politicians and talking heads spend no shortage of time obsessing over how they, and most importantly their pure and [...]
