Jenny McCarthy Apologizes For Suggesting Hilary Clinton Is A Lesbian

Jenny McCarthy

After making a joke about Hilary Clinton’s sexuality on The View, Jenny McCarthy has made a public apology on her blog titled “Anti-Gossip Girl.”

On July 22, McCarthy suggested the former Secretary of State was a lesbian.

“Well, maybe he has his girlfriends, and she has her girlfriends,” she said while discussing the new tell-all book by a secret service agent that claims former President Bill Clinton had a mistress known as ‘Energizer’ “You never know. Maybe they have an arrangement.”

She said she was just trying to get a laugh.

“Over the last year, my goal has been to always be funny with a side of inspiration,” she wrote. “Yet I have found myself being molded to be something I’m not. I don’t feel good about gossiping. I’m not even good at it, but when I started at The View, I knew I had a job that required some of it.”

After being a target of rumors herself, McCarthy said she didn’t want to be part of it and decided to turn the rumors into jokes.

“To me, jokes seemed far less harmful,” she said.

However, after she spoke about Clinton, she realized she had gone too far.

“That night, as I lay in bed and reflected on my day, I realized I was a hypocrite,” she wrote. “How could I make a joke like that and then five minutes later preach about female empowerment? It makes me sad when I see women ripping on other women, and there I was making a joke about our possible first female president!”

McCarthy’s contract with The View was not renewed and she will be leaving at the end of the summer.

Representation of Modern Families in Kid-Friendly Entertainment

I recently wrote an article for The Next Family called, “Family-Friendly Films That Feature Adoption and Foster Care,” that shared wonderful family films with adoption or foster care story lines. My reasoning behind doing so was because every family deserves a chance to see similar families like theirs represented in various forms of entertainment.

The same can be said of other...
