Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster is a married woman! Who’s the lucky gal? None other than The L Word star (and famed photographer) Alexandra Hedison! Remember Dylan Moreland?
Foster and Hedison were married over the weekend in a private ceremony. E! Online first reported the story Wednesday. The two had been dating for one year before the surprise announcement. Rumors of a new love affair began when Foster and Hedison were photographed together at a technology seminar in Los Angeles. A few days later, the new couple dined with friends, and then were seen at the opening of Alan Cumming’s Macbeth in New York City.
During her Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award speech at the Golden Globes in 2013, Foster acknowledged her ex-partner of 20 years, Cydney Bernard, and their two children, Charles and Kit. She also spoke of her need for privacy.
“This is not going to be a big coming-out speech tonight because I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the stone age – in those very quaint days when a fragile girl would open up to trusted friends and family and coworkers and then gradually proudly to everyone who knew her,” Foster began, before mentioning her family.
Hedison famously dated Ellen DeGeneres following DeGeneres’ split from Anne Heche. Hedison and DeGeneres were together for three years before their relationship ended in 2004. DeGeneres has since married Arrested Development actress Portia de Rossi.

With the passage of marriage equality last year, laws have been quickly changing across the United States. LGBT couples with or without children weren’t just given the right of marriage, they were provided new protections and benefits within their families. All of a sudden, LGBT couples and families had to figure out how to file jointly when it came to taxes, how to add...
