Breakbot (aka Thibaut Berland) has been a staple on my turntables for the last year. His retro electro funk is undeniably groovy in a Prince meets Jamiroquai sort of way.
He first made a splash with the 2010 single “Baby I’m Yours” featuring Irfane.
Rich piano and a thick slapped bass tend to ground his signature soft rock funky nu-disco sound. Add to that a splash of fun-loving lyrics and a hint of only the most tasteful retro synth.
This French DJ and Producer began his career making short films and working as a CG artist. He was quickly snatched up in 2009 by acclaimed French electro label Ed Banger Records, who gave him the extra push he needed to find his way into the indie mainstream.
I’m happy to report that he just released a new single called “Fantasy”, which features Ruckazoid, and a cheeky video.
Inland Sounds, for more.

I recently wrote an article for The Next Family called, “Family-Friendly Films That Feature Adoption and Foster Care,” that shared wonderful family films with adoption or foster care story lines. My reasoning behind doing so was because every family deserves a chance to see similar families like theirs represented in various forms of entertainment.
The same can be said of other...
