We nervously await the debut of Laverne Cox and a group of children in a remake of the Rocky Horror Picture show in a few days. But until then, Laverne has some tips for anyone dressing as a character from the film.

She recommends that you might want to start with Dr. F’s first look, the one in which he sings “Sweet Transvestite.” But not the one from the original film! She suggests copying her new look, a red glittery dress with a swirly red wig that looks like something from the chilling Puttermans coppertop commercials.

“If Grace Jones and David Bowie had a baby it would be this look,” she says.

Victoria Justice, whoever that is, suggests dressing as Janet. She wears a blue collared jacket at the opening, and by the end of course she is in her underwear, which is what you will actually do because Halloween is for sluts these days.

A human named Staz Nair plays the experiment, but wears a baggy gym short instead of a bikini brief in this version. He also has a big muscular chest, how nice for him.

Reeve Carney suggests going to a thrift store to get the components of his Riff-Raff costume. That’s a good idea, because when you go to a thrift store you will probably find the elements of a better costume.

Or you could always dress as one of the original cast members if you want a costume that people will actually recognize.
