“Shared Rooms” Shows Exactly Why Gay Men Chose Their Own Holiday Families

Shared Rooms, the latest holiday-themed production from writer-director Rob Williams (Make The Yuletide Gay, etc.) is out this week. The film unspools a trio of gay tales entirely shot in the gay Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, including one that has earned notoriety on the LGBTQ film festival circuit.

Co-stars Alexander Neil Miller and Justin Xavier Smith spend nearly their screen time in the film naked after a Christmas hook-up (bearing a close resemblance to the 1991 New Queer Cinema classic, Together Alone). They say that gay men choose their own families. That’s never more evident than during the holidays.
